Heavy Water Damage to Carpet
SERVPRO was called out to this house that had suffered a sewer water backup late one evening. Our crews arrived and begin the mitigation process to help restore the customer's home. Because raw sewage was involved, the loss was considered to be a black water loss. IICRC guidelines state that when dealing with a black water loss, all porous materials that come in contact with the water, need to be removed. As seen in the after photos, sections of the drywall were removed, and the ceramic tiles were scrubbed and cleaned. To prevent damage from bacteria, all affected areas were cleaned and an EPA registered disinfectant was applied.
