At SERVPRO of Washington, DC, we’re committed to celebrating the heroes who make our community stronger. This past Sunday, we had the privilege of honoring one of those heroes, Deputy Fire Chief - Paramedic Oluwafunmike Omasere, during the University of Maryland’s (UMD) basketball game against Rutgers.
With 27 years of service with DC Fire and EMS Foundation, Omasere has become a trusted leader, coordinating critical fire and EMS responses during high-stakes incidents, including 9/11. But Omasere’s impact goes beyond her duties during emergencies—she is deeply invested in empowering the next generation of first responders, particularly women, through her work with the Women’s Advisory Council. Her mentorship and outreach initiatives, including Camp Spark for young girls and Girl Scout First Aid training, demonstrate her commitment to both service and education.
At SERVPRO of Washington, DC, we believe in recognizing those who dedicate their lives to protecting and serving others. Deputy Fire Chief Omasere embodies this spirit, and we are proud to have had the chance to honor her.
As always—Go Terps!
